How did they even make that?
Laugh, and the world laughs with you. Cry, and the world laughs harder.

Rare or not, I would've paid more than 99 cents for it, just because I like it. But I would've gotten a second or third opinion as to the id.

Can someone explain why this thread was started?
Is the referenced marble a Scott Patrick creation, or is it known to have been made by another contemporary artist? The auction was closed and I know there were at least 3 long time, big time, well known, collectors of antique handmades that intended to pay huge sums for this marble, and want answers as to why it was cancelled, and this vague thread seems to be the only reason. The marble certainly is not "classic", looks familiar, and was sold on eBay sometime in the last year. (same marble, or just one of many???)
Thanks,
Alan

Scott was being tongue in cheek as to rare. Rare in that he might not have made that many of them. He made this one and it was revealed on his board. I actually give TR and Scott kudos for the alert.

A little TOO tongue-in-cheek if you ask me. Not really worth a kudo.

My turn to play moderator!

Let's accentuate the positive! 'kay? 'kay. thanks!

I was a little frustrated about not getting the straight poop straighter than we got it! But that was my problem! LOL. So the keepers of the facts want to do a little strip tease with them. LOLOL We still learned about the marble. I'll second the kudos.

It always amazes me that a bidder will bid $300+ on a marble without knowing anything about it.

I give the seller credit for ending the auction, but he should have know better....

The description of the odd pontil should have raised immediate red flags.

JMHO...LOL

As Always,
Mark
