I agree with what others have said. IMHO, this board is important in many ways. Here are a few more.

* Marble Connection archives contain a wealth of information. Furthermore, Stephanie's work has made it possible for people like me, who have not been here every day or even every week, to find the "crackerjack threads," the sweet threads containing prize nuggets of information and insight.

* Sue and Lou know marbles and have nurtured this group (and past groups) successfully for a long time. They have good instincts for the long run.

* Many fun, talented and helpful people hang out here.

It would be very sad to see it die. I for one am in if y'all will have me.

Best wishes,
-Taunya

 When I first started to post and reply, (only a few months ago) I was not sure. I asked a few folks to hold their tongues and now I see more of what marble collecting is all about. Seeing great mibs, learning who collects and what they collect, to build friendships and trading partners, give advise, and most of the time for me..........................drool over some of the most outragous mibs some of you folks have. I can see the change just in a few months. I want to thank each of you for being here and helping me enjoy lifes pleasure.

KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK EVERYONE>>>>>>>YOUR DOING WHAT IT TAKES TO BUILD A WINNING PROGRAM

My opinion - the board is dead and has been dead for a very long time, however I check it each day :)

Just curious, why check a "dead" board?

David, what's missing??

TMM posted some very nasty threads on each forum about his banner... I deleted a couple of them, especially the one in the Memorial forum.... Lou hasn't mentioned deleting anything to me (though, he usually doesn't.....)
PM me if you'd rather....

It's only alive to those who allow it to be.... If it appears dead to you, you've let it die...........

David may be refering to old threads that are a year old....????

I was unaware, until recently, that old threads have been deleted after a year.... This is due to space issues on the board.

I talked to Lou about how we could stop it... Reducing space usage is the answer...

One way we can reduce space, is to keep our uploaded photos limited to a reasonable size. So, a size limit has been placed on uploads ('still not quite sure what the limit is.....) More on this later....

David, if that is what you meant, my guess would be...... They're gone...

Hi Mon1018, nice to meet ya and welcome in!
I consider it as this, I'm on the ground floor of a new beginning, watching and trying to help a baby grow, even though I, myself, am a baby marbler. Seeing people meet, learn, teach and share what they have or know, for a common interest.
It's takes time, courtesy, enthusiasm and respect to grow into a place that will be greater than imagined. And that is with everyone's efforts.
Lots of folks have enough going on in their lives, in their work-a-day world, and I think this should be a place of enjoyment and well, sort of that 'calgon, take me away' place.
I know I have learned a lot from the good folks here and there is so much more to be discovered ahead.
(This is my thoughts and opinions)
Thanks everyone!
:-) Felicia

Hmmmmmm, Good Question!!!

I had noticed that the pinned topics had been "weeded." I didn't do that... I've gotta assume that Lou did....

I'm sure he can speak for himself and will when he comes in.... But, my guess at his answer would be...

Since we are having "space issues" and older, larger threads have been deleted to make room for new threads...
Since many of the people who contributed heavily to that thread are no longer here (and some either no longer wish to be associated with us, or vice versa...) and it was an older, larger thread....
It's either simply been "unpinned" (I searched for it, but got an error, cuz all 3 words are under 4 characters!! I just don't have time, right now, to delve farther into it...)
Or, Lou deleted it and we will simply have to create a newer, probably shorter <_< version!!

It's nice to see you here, David!! ;)

It was un-pinned by me. I run the board, I can pin what I feel is valuable, I can un-pin what I feel is no longer valuable. Many of the people who posted on that thread have moved on, it was time to let it go.

Any problems my email is below.

Lou
